More News About the Cancellation of “Eastwick”

Reuters is reporting that “Eastwick” will have all 13 episodes air – but no more episodes will be in production… At least we get to see the rest of the original episodes!

ABC has opted not to order additional episodes of “Eastwick,” its rookie supernatural comedy-drama starring Rebecca Romijn.

“Eastwick,” a fresh take on the hit 1987 movie “The Witches of Eastwick,” will finish production on 13 episodes; ABC plans to run them all.

This just in: ABC has opted not to order additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively canceling the freshman dramedy. The show has consistently finished last in its Wednesday-10 pm timeslot. ABC, meanwhile, has ordered five additional episodes of The Forgotten.

Eastwick bounced on Wednesday November 18th

According to The Futon Critic’s twitter account, ABC is pre-empting the November 18, 2009 airing of Eastwick in favor of a Janet Jackson special.

While no doubt disappointing for Eastwick fans, the show is clearly on a trajectory of playing out the string until the string (of 13 episodes) runs out and it falls into the dead pool. Given the November sweeps period, the schedule machinations are not surprising.

Rosanna Arquette headed to ‘Eastwick’

Actress Rosanna Arquette has signed up to guest star on the U.S. supernatural television series “Eastwick,” ABC announced.

Arquette’s film credits include “Baby It’s You,” “Desperately Seeking Susan” and “Pulp Fiction.”

ABC said she is to play New York art maven Greta Noa in the Nov. 18 episode of “Eastwick.”

“Thrilled when Darryl arranges an art show for her work at his mansion — and invites New York art maven Greta Noa — Roxie forgets that his motives might be less than pure,” the network said in a news release. “Joanna turns to her power to get her life back on track, but swiftly discovers that every action, magical or otherwise, has its consequences. And Kat, still unsure about how to move on from Ray, shies away from a budding romance with Will.”

The show stars Jon Bernthal as Ray, Jaime Ray Newman as Kat, Lindsay Price as Joanna, Rebecca Romijn as Roxie, Johann Urb as Will and Paul Gross as Darryl.

Will Jerry split ‘Eastwick’s’ coven?

One of my favorite fall discoveries has been ABC’s “Eastwick.” It’s totally camp-tastic fun and a must watch for anyone who loved “Charmed.” The show’s biggest boon has been the casting of Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price and Jamie Ray Newman — they ground these incredibly unrealistic situations (telepathy, telekinesis, control over the elements) and have me believing that witches are among us.

In a few weeks, Rebecca’s real-life husband Jerry O’ Connell will be dropping by the not-so-sleepy burg of Eastwick and stirring up trouble for one of the theoretical cauldron chicks — Kat. “He is a good man hiding a horrible secret. He’s a single father, a widow, with a young son who is a part of this secret,” executive producer Maggie Friedman told TV Guide.

Although things look to still be on solid ground in this first look at Jamie and Jerry starting filming today, Maggie teases that the Earth will begin rumbling soon! “Kat will be drawn to him, and she will be put in danger as a result.”

‘Eastwick’ exclusive: Jerry O’Connell drops in on wife Rebecca Romijn

Is there anything more magical than a casting scoop that breaks the proverbial fourth wall? I think not.

Case in point: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jerry O’Connell has booked a multi-episode arc opposite his real-life wife, Rebecca Romijn, on ABC’s increasingly addictive drama Eastwick.

O’Connell, who will appear in the final two episodes of Eastwick’s initial 13-episode order, will play Colin, a hot new neighbor of Kat’s (Jaime Ray Newman) who is hiding a dark and magical secret.

This isn’t the first time the happy couple drove to work together. Actually, it’s the third. Two years ago, Romijn guest-starred on O’Connell’s short-lived ABC comedy Carpoolers. And prior to that, O’Connell made a cameo opposite his then-fiance on Ugly Betty.
